Compact type magnetic-inductive flowmeter

May 2013 Flow Measurement & Control

Kobold Instrumentation has introduced its compact type MIK magnetic-inductive flowmeter featuring a variety of measuring ranges and designs. For many applications like the monitoring of additives or cooling agents, totalising, or filling, the devices that use the magnetic-inductive principle of measurement offer an optimum cost-effective solution. These compact measuring instruments measure the flow rates of electrically conductive liquids with a high degree of precision and are not influenced by the medium and its material characteristics like density, viscosity or temperature. Particular advantages include uninterrupted flow of the medium, no moving parts and installation in any desired position.

Measuring ranges start at 0,05 l/min and currently end at 100 l/min. Six different measuring tube sizes from G » male to G 1» male are ideal for users with small to medium-sized measuring ranges. A second generation of flowmeters will cover measuring ranges up to 800 l/min. Various material combinations are available for different media in the chemical industry; flow housings are available in PPS with stainless steel electrodes and PVDF with Hastelloy electrodes. A variety of seals are available in NBR, FPM or the highly chemically resistant FFKM.

Matching electronics are offered for the various tasks. This ranges from designs with only switching or analogue output to those with counting and dosing electronics offering numerous setting possibilities and outputs. Displays that are easy to read even in poor light ensure dependable on-site information. Installation is simple due to the practical material-specific connection alternatives such as gluing plastic tubes, welding pipes or attaching hoses.
