Lowveld's largest banana drying plant chooses a scada

In conjunction with Nelspruit-based Telmod Projects, Adroit Technologies has recently completed a project to install a TSX Micro PLC with an Adroit 30 Tag for Novasun, the largest producer of dried bananas in the Lowveld.

According to Alistair Dunbar of Telmod Projects, who managed the electrical and mechanical installations, the old system was unreliable and prone to expensive production breakdowns. "With Adroit installed," says Dunbar, "Charlie van Dyk, the owner of Novasun, has dependable control of the drying process, as well as accurate records of all the temperature trends and settings of every batch he has produced."

John Crane of Adroit Technologies says, "With the implementation of Adroit's proven technology and Telmod's outstanding technical expertise, Novasun can boast of a world-class facility that consistently produces dried fruit of the highest quality."
