Mitech's hygienic valve is locally designed and manufactured for sanitary service in the food, brewing and medical industries. Its mirror polished stainless steel housing discourages bacteria growth and being cavity-free, it is easily cleaned.
Available in sizes ranging from 25 to 100 mm, the valve is rated to ANSI#150 or ND16. The seal arrangement uses PTFE packing, guides and gaskets and a special lower guide eliminates dead space. A double-acting or spring return actuator is utilised with fail closed or fail open field-reversible action. It is rated for 1000 kPa and has a nylon coated anodised aluminium cylinder and Buna N or Viton 'O' ring seals.
Either a pneumatic positioner with a 20-100 kPa signal or an electropneumatic type with a 4-20 mA signal can be used. The positioner has an air-to-open or air-to-close action and both split range and a 4-20 mA feedback are optional. For CIP applications the valve operates at a maximum temperature of 150°C using caustic soda or steam.
