Schneider Electric South Africa has launched StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0 software, an open, scalable software application that tracks real-time power conditions to improve efficiency, availability and reliability in maximising asset performance. The software features an intuitive, web-based interface that allows users to monitor, analyse and report on energy usage and power quality information in a single integrated package that simplifies access to power system information for both novices and power experts.
With the inclusion of multiple new libraries for commonly used real-time values, alarm views, and reports, StruxureWare Power Monitoring software provides considerable savings in engineering-time hours. Schneider Electric has also built more device-type support into the software, including support for Micrologic E control units, Twido PLCs, Momentum PLCs and legacy PowerLogic devices, such as CM2000 series circuit monitors and PM600 series power meters. With translatable event strings for alarm management and localised measurement names for the end-user interface, the new version of the software also improves internationalisation.
“Through the powerful presentation tools, facility managers can illustrate facility performance to key stakeholders or highlight energy consumption with tenants in the hope of driving positive changes in consumption behaviour,” says Gys Snyman, energy efficiency VP at Schneider Electric South Africa.
StruxureWare Power Monitoring is available as a standalone solution for a specific application or can be applied as part of an integrated end market suite for buildings, industrial plants and data centres.
“Supported by EcoStruxure Web Services, each suite unifies key software applications from shop floor to top floor and provides a scalable platform, easy integration with legacy and third-party systems,” says Snyman. “The consistent user experience delivers the right information to the right person at the right time, anywhere.”
