Instrotech's Siko range has been extended to include a new motor position drive with Profibus-DP interface as option to program all parameters, settings and target values. RS232 interface is also available.
A low-cost version without Profibus can be supplied where programming is carried out via a 24V interface such as the PC COM1 or COM2 interface.
The model MST-01 is suitable for DC motors with a maximum of 150 W (48 V) or 75 W (24 V) and has been designed for moving driving spindles, for example during machine setting on wood or metal-working machines. For position measurement with an incremental encoder with A, B, and O signals, a resolution of 500 pulses is required. Counting range is 24 bit. Calibration is automatic via the external reference switch.
The Profibus-DP interface allows programming of positioning parameters, travel speed and acceleration. Diagnostics can be carried out via Profibus and also available, via Profibus, are the resolution of the linked incremental encoder and the moving limits. All programmed parameters are stored in EEPROM in case of power failure.
A trace function for registration of transient effects allows faster/better control setting and easier control of the controller's speed or deviation. The motor position drive can be mounted on standard DIN rails and is compact in size with a width of 46 mm x height 94 mm and a depth of 92 mm.
