Reflex iC60N and iC60H

April 2012 Electrical Power & Protection

Schneider Electric South Africa has introduced Reflex iC60N and iC60H integrated control circuit breakers, offering users a number of advantages in the application of control and remote control integrated circuit breakers through the combination of major functions in a single device. “The Reflex circuit breakers offer remote control by latched and/or impulse type in accordance with the three operating modes selectable by the user,” says Sibusiso Skosana, LV product marketing manager at Schneider SA.

The circuit breaker provides protection against short circuit, overload currents and disconnection. Resetting after a fault is done manually using the reset handle. Skosana adds that a version with Ti24 allows the Reflex iC60 to interface directly with a PLC, execute remote control and indicate the state of the control circuit or circuit breaker tripping. An iMDU auxiliary enables the Reflex iC60 to be controlled in 24/48 VAC/DC.

“Users will find it beneficial that the circuit breakers’ control mode is adapted to various applications and that the devices offer easy diagnostics via a lamp indicator on the front face. In addition, the product will save users time when it comes to power and control wiring, as well as testing and commissioning,” says Skosana. He highlights that further advantages include the possibility to report data and operate the device via Modbus from either a local supervision system or the largest building management system. The solution is also flexible and easy to upgrade as users do not have to change the whole wiring diagram.

Options in the Reflex iC60N range include 10, 16, 25, 40 and 63A versions with or without Ti24 interface. The Reflex iC60H with T124 interface offers 10, 16, 25 and 40 A versions and both have the option of a Vigi i60 add-on residual current device, iMDU auxiliaries and a range of accessories.

The circuit breakers feature a tripping and disconnection device capable of disconnecting and padlocking in the ‘open’ position and neutralising remote control. The terminals are IP20 insulated and bi-stable operation ensures no change of state in the event of a power outage. A pushbutton offers manual control for opening and closing as well as a choice of operating modes.

“Longer service life is ensured by good capacity to withstand overvoltage. The products are designed to provide high industrial performance across the degree of pollution, rated impulse withstand voltage and insulation voltage,” adds Skosana. “They offer high limitation performance and fast closure independent of the speed of operating handle reset.”

Typical fields of application include lighting and heating control and power supply to machinery and workshops in the transport industry, airports, garages, warehouses, offices, hospitals, supermarkets, banks, factories and industrial process applications.
