PLC Direct
DirectSOFT, PLC Direct's Windows-certified programming package, supports all five DirectLOGIC families of PLCs simultaneously, including the DL05, DL105, DL205, DL305 and DL405 ranges, plus all of their Koyo cousins which are various PLCs manufactured by Koyo and branded for other vendors. The PLC Direct families of PLCs are all Ethernet enabled, facilitating high-speed factory floor communications at low cost.
The full package supports a wide array of on-line/off-line programming and documentation features while smaller versions are available that support only certain families for a lower cost.
Users are able to write their own programs with nicknames instead of data points and can view the program three different ways (R\LL, Stage View and Mnemonics) on the same screen. A spreadsheet-style documentation editor makes it very easy to create and edit program documentation on the fly while I/O cross-reference and element usage windows keep track of addresses used.
There is also a print preview feature with full-colour print support. For setting up PIDs, users fill-in-the-blanks for alarms, mode, ramp/soak, process variable, setpoint, etc while PID loop tune and trending screens are standard. The DirectSoft drum timers are widely considered to be the easiest to create and edit in the industry.
