Moxa has announced that a Command Line Interface (CLI) in the latest V3.0 firmware has been released for both the EDS-405A/408A and EDS-505A/508A/510A/516A/518A series. The CLI is a comprehensive configuration interface including IP, Redundant Ring and VLAN, which allows users to configure Moxa switches in the same method as IT-based switches are configured. In addition, the CLI can work with enterprise network management software, such as Kiwi, for command line based configuration backup and restoration. The CLI can be accessed locally via RS232 or remotely by Telnet. When upgrading to version 3.0 firmware (available on the Moxa website) the existing Moxa managed industrial Ethernet switches will immediately be CLI enabled.
Moxa says its CLI demonstrates the commitment to expand the range of features for customers so that they can unify their device management using large-scale network infrastructure applications. “Moxa’s switches are a true working solution for large scale projects,” says by Li Peng, Moxa’s product manager of industrial Ethernet infrastructure.
The CLI interface together with the latest version 3.0 firmware has been released on Moxa’s website for both the EDS-405A/408A and EDS-505A/508A/510A/516A/518A switch Series, and will also be released soon for the EDS-608/611/616/619, EDS-728, IKS, PT, and TN switch Series.
