Orton introduces bolted body seat valves

Orton has developed the final design evolution for its triple eccentric metal seated MV series valves – the bolted body seat for critical applications. This is an important feature for applications where abrasive fluids, corrosive media, high cycles and thermal stresses, may cause damage to the sealing components. With the introduction of this feature the choice of suitable seat materials has increased over the limited traditional ones that may only be welded to the base body material. Finally, this evolution makes the valve suitable for longer service, with the possibility to replace both body seat and disc seal ring on site.
Bolted body seat design
The seat is firmly retained in position in the body by a flange secured by a consistent number of reaction screws acting on it; a static gasket prevents back leakage. This flange retainer design retains the standard body seat dimensions with nominal valve bore with the highest possible CV and without introducing any interruption of the standard flange raised face. Finally, the disc seal rings are fully interchangeable with the basic design and maintenance activities are easy with no special tools are not required.
Materials
The bolted seat may be produced in a large variety of alloy materials without the typical limitations of the traditional integral body seat and relative welding deposits.
