Robolux valves from Bürkert

August 2011 Valves, Actuators & Pump Control

Functionality in a compact package.

One of Bürkert’s innovation highlights is the Robolux valve. The multiport design integrates two independently operated valves beneath a single membrane. This saves space, and therefore makes it possible to design more compact layouts even for complex processes. In downstream processes in particular, the pneumatically or manually controlled valves excel thanks to their low volumes and dead space reduction. Their sophisticated design also allows the valves to be cleaned easily and efficiently. This can be particularly advantageous when downstream sterile processes are involved, such as filtration or chromatography.

Cutting costs and boosting productivity

Two shut-off valves eliminate the T-pieces and welding which would alternatively be required, while the patented valve shape also minimises the number of valves and membranes needed. The valves therefore cut assembly and maintenance costs by reducing the space and complexity required.

Efficient Robolux block solutions are ideal for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries since they can be completely emptied and are easy to clean. They also reduce the amount of branching at valve nodes with an associated boost in plant productivity.

Bürkert supplies Robolux valves in a range of housing materials: stainless steel, plastic, PVDF or PP; the membrane valves are therefore suitable for a wide range of media. With operating pressures up to 10 bar, the valves provide numerous possibilities for more efficient process solutions in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
