Moxa has announced that the latest addition to the V2400 series of EN 50155-certified railway computers is ready to roll. The V2416, an x86 Intel Atom embedded computer, has a hot swappable storage bay feature that is particularly useful in NVR (network video recording) applications. The computers feature four RS232/422/485 serial ports, dual LAN ports, and three USB 2.0 hosts. In addition, V2416 computers provide dual VGA and DVI-I outputs and are EN 50155 certified, ensuring their reliability in railway and industrial applications.
The units are equipped with two slots for inserting additional storage media, such as hard disks or SSD drives and are tailored for NVR applications, supporting hot swaps for convenient, fast, and easy storage expansion. Innovative programmable LEDs indicate the storage capacity and computer status, while an API library is provided to enable easy configuration of the storage capacity and an e-mail notification function to simplify development.
EN 50155 certified
EN 50155 certification specifies standards for the operation, design, construction, and testing of electronic equipment used on rail vehicles and in railway applications. Moxa’s railway series computers are EN 50155 certified and undergo environmental testing to ensure reliable performance under a variety of power supply conditions, such as voltage variations, power interruptions, and supply changeover. The computers can also withstand environmental disturbances including vibration, shock and temperature variations.
Rcore ready-to-run embedded software platform
All of Moxa’s embedded computers are supplied with the operating system pre-installed. In addition, BIOS, middleware, sample code and tools are provided to give programmers a user-friendly environment for application development, minimising the effort required for system integration.
