Wonderware has acquired the Scadalarm advanced telephonic dialler for Windows product from Fluid Solutions.
Scadalarm is a Windows-based tele-phonic alarm dialling system that can link directly to Wonderware's FactorySuite 2000 solutions package, providing customers with realtime alarm notification, data acquisition and remote control from practically anywhere. Scadalarm will be sold in southern Africa exclusively through Futuristix Advanced Control Systems.
Originally designed for non-staffed or lightly staffed processing plants with a need for remote telephonic alarm management, Scadalarm allows users to create custom voice-mail menus to access live process information, listen to active alarms, acknowledge alarms and perform remote control functions from any tele-phone.
Scadalarm-equipped application ser-vers provide alarm notifications and efficient remote alarm management capabilities for mobile users and operator teams or maintenance or supervisory personnel. Scadalarm can be configured to communicate via control room or plant annunciation speakers, intercoms, telephones, cellular phones, pagers and radios. Its versatile alarm routing subsystem supports alarms groups, intra-group call routing priorities, event priorities, changing day and night schedules, user communications preferences, security clearances and other scheduling factors.
"We anticipate a strong demand for the Scadalarm technology," says Futuristix MD Mike le Plastrier. "The system is already being used extensively overseas in the oil and gas industry, water and wastewater, and building controls and has applicability in virtually any industrial market."
