Movicon is an innovative Scada/HMI package running on the Windows platform (XP, Vista, 7, CE) which embraces widely used technologies such as XML, Web-services, SVG graphics, SOAP, OPC, SQL, .Net and COM, and the Java technology used for Web client solutions.

Features
Scalability: One development environment allows the creation of applications suitable for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, as well as Windows CE. Thus, one tool allows users to create micro (HMI) applications as well as full-fledged scada solutions.
Openness: Movicon 11 projects are based completely on XML. Projects can be opened and edited with XML editors. In addition, projects can be grouped in hierarchical structures, distributed and shared.
Security: Movicon projects can be encrypted with 128-bit coding algorithms. In addition, the FDA-approved CFR21 part 11 normative is built in as well, which makes FDA approved applications easy to create.
Standards: Movicon 11 is based on standard technologies, thus any application created will never be rendered obsolete. The XML, ODBC, OPC, VBA, SOAP, Web Services, TCP-IP and SQL technologies have been integrated into the platform to guarantee easy data access and transparency.
SoftLogic IEC 61131-3: Movicon 11 integrates the Logicon SoftPLC to guarantee a single programming environment whether on the Scada/HMI side or SoftPLC side.
Report generation: Movicon contains its own set built-in reporting tools, which are based on .Net technologies, and have CrystalReports engine v10 integrated.
Simultaneous editing: Multiple users can edit the same project simultaneously, provided they do not use the same resources. For more complex project editing, Movicon provides integration with Microsoft Visual Source Safe (VSS), which can track project changes, and allow/block resources from being edited from multiple locations.
Usability
The Movicon user interface has been designed with the scada developer in mind. For this reason, a scientific analysis of Scada/HMI products has been used to assist in the development of Movicon’s user interface. As a result, the Movicon interface is a leader in simplicity and intuition.
