The high-powered Sitrans F M Transmag 2 flowmeter is an innovative Siemens invention enabling accurate flow measurement even in applications where slurries and solids are common. The extremely robust flowmeter combines the advantage of pulsed DC and the resulting continuous alternating field.

The magnetic strength of the Sitrans F M Mag 911/E sensor is much greater than conventional DC flowmeters. Besides the strong magnetic field, the unit offers a second coil circuit to compensate for fluctuations in the magnetic field caused by the conditions of the process. The result is a reliable and accurate measurement with a fast response time.

A broad variety of liners for all applications
Siemens can supply liners for optimal lifetime in all abrasive media applications providing best possible protection for the flowmeter. From inlet protection rings to liners and electrodes, a wide range of materials are available. In particular, Linatex and PTFE liners have proven their worth in harsh environments.
Linatex for top protection in mining applications
Rugged in design and unaffected by electrode noise, disturbances or vibrations, the Sitrans F M Transmag 2 flowmeter is ideal for any application with solid content and magnetic particles up to 70%.
When fitted with a Linatex liner, the flowmeter is well-equipped for wear resistance where the liner also provides long-lasting mechanical protection as minerals or particles bounce off the soft rubber liner, instead of wearing it down.
Other liner options available are Neoprene and Novolak. If chemicals are present, the latter is especially well suited for gold processing.
Resistant PTFE liner for pulp and paper industries
The Sitrans F M Transmag 2 flowmeter offers exceptional value for pulp and paper applications. The high-energy magnetic field provides a powerful signal ideal for measuring flow even where media fibre content is up to 15%.
PTFE is renowned for possessing the best long-term chemical resistance of any liner material, maintaining its stability despite prolonged exposure to high chemical concentrations at elevated temperatures.
When equipped with a PFTE liner it is also well suited for pulp and paper applications, and together with the good signal noise relationship the flowmeter is ready to take on the toughest applications.
