In addition to six RJ45 ports, the smart managed SMN 6TX/2POF-PN switch from Phoenix Contact also offer two diagnostic capable POF interfaces in a narrow cabinet friendly housing. Both polymer and HCS fibres can be connected via the fibre-optic interfaces for easy assembly in the field and transmission distances up to 250 m.
Using the integrated diagnostics, the switch supports users by continuously measuring the received power and optical system reserve for display in the Web-based management system using an SNMP object or Profinet communication.
The switch can be used as a Profinet I/O device with a PDEV function and can be utilised in redundant Ethernet networks with RSTP Fast Ring Detection or in an MRP environment. For Ethernet/IP networks, it has multicast filtering with an IGMP snooping function. A connection to high-performance switches in the backbone area, eg, to the Gigabit Modular Switch FL Switch GHS 12G/8 from Phoenix Contact can also be established.
