The new generation Bluetooth converter from Phoenix Contact monitors radio links with increased effectiveness and reduces installation and commissioning costs. As part of an ongoing development programme, it has been supplemented with further useful functions and the configuration software has additional tools. A software wizard enables untrained personnel to configure the devices.
The radio link diagnostics have been improved by the addition of bar graphs as well as two digital outputs. Cross wiring with a T-bus connector makes it easier to install several parallel radio links, which can be configured using a USB interface without requiring a separate power section. Functions are compatible with the first generation, even in mixed operation.
The Bluetooth converter performs well in the rugged environments found in water treatment plants, foundries and other adverse environments where there is a lot of metal. This is achieved using frequency hopping (FHSS) which guarantees coexistence with other radio systems as well as a secure data transfer. The implementation of serial wireless applications (RS232, RS422 and RS485 2-wire) allows radio links to be monitored more simply and seamlessly than ever before.
