Valtek Sulamericana has designed special versions of its GLH Globe line of control valves for Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras. The giant control valves were specially developed with a high quality cast body made of stainless steel and hardened alloy trim in order to prevent erosion and assure the integrity of the seating surfaces. The body and remaining wetted parts comply with NACE MR-01.75 standards. Equipped with spring-cylinder actuator, the valves are supplied also with intelligent positioners (Foundation Fieldbus) able to provide diagnostic data.
The largest valve has a 450 mm diameter and ANSI rating 1500 operating at temperatures up to 360°C. The project was completed in eight months, from the design of specific components to the assembly and final tests. The result is a unique portfolio of control valves utilising the latest technology to provide long-lasting reliability.
