Danish producer Cerealia wished to measure its flow of its flour production and at the same time add a substance in proportion to the flow. Jesma proposed its Jesflow solution for measuring the flour flow and the loss-in-weight system VDI for the subsequent addition of substances. The two systems function together in a master-slave configuration, where the material flow is the master and the substance is the slave. The new system ensures that the mixing ratio between the products is the same at all times. When Cerealia sieves and recirculates the flour through four different sieves, the material flow may vary from 95% to 105% of the ideal capacity. This is exactly the process which the new weighing system optimises for quality.
The flow scale
Jesflow uses the centrifugal principle for weighing. The material is fed through a curved section where the centrifugal force is measured by a load cell and this signal is processed in the weight amplifier. The scale is simple in structure and is applicable where flow control of different ingredients, such as spices or flour, is required. The scale requires little space at only 0,5 m in height.
Jesma delivers all kinds of weighers and weighing systems, both as approved and as standard solutions. In close co-operation with its customers, Jesma prepares project specific solutions – this is how the project at Cerealia was realised.
