The Level Plus Model MG liquid level transmitter from MTS Sensors, meets the requirements for the custody transfer standard of the American Petroleum Institute (API). To validate conformity, MTS tests all level transmitters on a state-of-the-art laser test bed traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technologies’ (NIST) standards. The maximum allowable non-linearity is 1,6 mm to pass the laser bed test and conform to the API custody transfer standard.
The Model MG level transmitter satisfies the demand for a digital communication interface in the liquid level marketplace for vessels from 508 to 22 000 mm in height. Outputs for the Model MG include Modbus, DDA (proprietary ASCII protocol), and Foundation Fieldbus. The Model MG level transmitter features 3-in-1 measurement of the product level, interface level, and the average temperature from up to 12 temperature points. This allows the customer to utilise a single process opening, eliminating the need for separate level and temperature transmitter openings and products. Designed for inventory control, the level transmitter can also provide volume measurement from a 100-point strap table loaded by the user. Incorporating the strap table into the transmitter means users do not need to maintain multiple copies or create the underlying formulas.
