Moxa has released the V2101 Series rugged Atom embedded computer. With a palm size design, the V2101 series features dual displays, lower power consumption and -40 to 85°C operating temperature range. The series is based on the Intel Atom Menlow XL x86 and features two serial ports, dual Gigabit LAN ports, four USB 2.0 hosts, and SD socket. The V2100 offers both VGA and LVDS outputs, making it particularly suited for industrial digital signage applications.

Two serial ports make them ideal for connecting a wide range of serial devices, and the dual 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports offer a reliable solution for network redundancy, promising continuous operation for data communication and management. As an added convenience, the computers have three DIs and three DOs for connecting digital input/output devices. The SD and USB sockets provide the reliability needed for industrial applications that require data buffering and storage expansion.

The series supports dual independent displays (VGA+LVDS) for field site monitoring, allowing users to choose more panel resolutions by using individual data bits (18-bit or 24-bit) and channel selections (single channel or dual channel) separately. This is particularly convenient as users can reduce the effort and cost for the application implementation at the field site that requires different panel resolutions.

The small form factor enables easy field site implementation in harsh industrial environments and features fanless design. Pre-installed Linux, WinCE 6.0 or Windows Embedded Standard 2009, provides the development platform for sophisticated application software. In addition, BIOS, middleware, sample code, and tools are provided to give programmers a user-friendly environment for application development to save time and development costs.
