Schneider Electric South Africa has announced two new and comprehensive servicing value additions to its Installed-Based Services for medium and low-voltage switchgear equipment. Sophisticated diagnostic tools and a maintenance contract are now available to customers of new and existing Schneider Electric switchgear. The enhanced Installed-Based Services consist of a set of four diagnostic tools and a software programme unique to Schneider Electric: the Installed-Based Suite, supported by highly-skilled field technicians.
“In the past, Schneider Electric’s maintenance services have mostly been customer driven. With the new diagnostic offering, however, highly trained, in-house technical personnel can now proactively diagnose the condition of new and existing switchgear and, if required, recommend the best corrective action. Customers who take up this service are also provided with a detailed technical report,” says Andre du Preez, business development manager at Schneider Electric South Africa.
The maintenance contract from Schneider Electric was developed to give customers the peace of mind that their switchgear will operate continuously and optimally. Du Preez says, “Each contract is tailor-made to suit a customer’s needs and works much the same way as the motor plan for a vehicle. Customers can buy this contract for their new and existing equipment and always have an expert technician on call.
“Schneider Electric is an original equipment manufacturer and so our customers are assured that when technicians from our organisation work on their Schneider Electric switchgear only genuine parts are used. Just like a vehicle, we understand that customers would like to have their switchgear serviced by approved technicians rather than an unknown source.”
