The API series turbine flowmeters are available in standard sizes from 3/4 to 12"and are manufactured in compliance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards. These systems utilise a non-wearing bearing with extremely low drag pick-up coils and internal flow straighteners. Hoffer flowmeters claim an unrivalled low pressure-drop repeatable to 0,02% over the flow range.
The rotor assembly of the API meter is hydro-dynamically balanced within the meter and 'floats' on the fluid cushion thus avoiding friction and providing extended bearing life. Manufactured specifically to application, the Hoffer API meters cover flow rates from 13,6 to 56 000 litres/min in applications with temperatures between -267°C and +454°C.
Process connections include standard ANSI, DIN or ring joint flanges units up to pressures equivalent to 2500# classification. For increased accuracy, multiple pick-up coils are available and the units can optionally be manufactured as bi-directional flowmeters.
Electronics include volumetric and mass flow rate indicators and computers, batch totalisers, cryogenic truck and ground systems, computer interface and various signal-conditioning units. Intrinsically safe and explosion proof flow systems with CE, CSA, Cenelec and various other approvals are available.
Hoffer Flow Controls are represented locally by MeasureTech, a Tyco International company, and claim the distinction of being voted the number one turbine manufacturer in the world for the fourth consecutive year.
