The Siemens Industry Automation Division is complementing its all-around IP65 protected Simatic human machine interface (HMI) device series with a range of modular expansion units.
The new components are individually equipped for plant-specific operator control and monitoring tasks, for example, with pushbuttons and illuminated pushbuttons, lamps, switches, USB ports, or emergency stop buttons. The expansion units are suitable for all Simatic HMI devices and are optionally attached on the left side, right side, or both sides of the Multi Panel 377 Pro 15, Thin Client Pro 15, or Flat Panel Monitor Pro 15.
The complete system comprising an HMI device and expansion units also achieves degree of protection IP65 and permits additional control activities and applications directly on-site at the operator station. The expansion units are wired up direct on the support arm independently of the HMI so that the wiring does not have to be disconnected in case of maintenance or if the HMI needs to be replaced.
