Dual-RF design for absolute reliability.

Moxa has launched a new generation of AWK-6222 outdoor wireless AP/Bridge/Client products, which feature dual independent RF modules with 2,4 or 5 GHz dual-band operation for superior wireless redundancy, IP68-rated housing, a -40 to 75°C operating temperature range, and seamless Turbo Roaming. This unique industrial blend allows industrial users to achieve ultra-reliable wireless networks under challenging outdoor, mobile conditions.

The AWK-6222 is IEEE 802.11 a/b/g-compliant, and can be configured as an access point, bridge, or client. And with the support of Moxa’s proprietary wireless redundancy technology, the dual independent RF modules can be set up as independent wireless connections by using different frequencies (2,4 or 5 GHz dual-band operation) to avoid interruptions by radio interference and consequently provide outstanding wireless reliability. Thanks to the dual Ethernet ports that support RSTP and Moxa’s Turbo Ring, the AWK-6222 is a highly flexible and reliable solution for the entire network. Moreover, the 6222 is IEEE 802.3af PoE compliant, which enables simple and stress-free power distribution for hard-to-wire, outdoor, and remote areas. WEP, WPA/WPA2, and IEEE 802.1X authentication provide enhanced wireless network security.

The units are IP68 certified and come equipped with M12 connectors to prevent damage caused by rain, humidity, dust, and vibration. This rugged unit provides long-distance transmissions over 10 kilometres, and possesses E/e mark certification for motor vehicles, plus meets and exceeds EN50155/EN50121-3-2/50121-4 standards for railway and rolling stock. For enhanced flexibility, the AWK-6222’s detachable antenna design gives users the freedom of choosing a suitable function-specific antenna to achieve the best coverage.

Make use of Moxa’s free web-based WLAN calculator to quickly and easily decide on the perfect antenna for your application. Moxa has a variety of directional and omni-directional antennas to extend your transmissions to new lengths.
