The safe Inline Profisafe IB IL 24 PSDI 8, IB IL 24 PSDO 8, IB IL 24 PSDOR 4, and IB IL 24 PSDO 4/4 modules from Phoenix Contact can be variably integrated into automation solutions based on the Inline I/O construction kit.
Depending on the bus coupler in use, Profisafe modules can be used in Profibus DP and Profinet networks. Furthermore, the modules also support the Interbus safety protocol and are therefore universally applicable. The inputs and outputs of the safe I/O modules can be configured to comply with safety requirements. These modules are easy to install and, depending on the type of device, allow up to eight safe sensors and/or safe actuators to be connected. The settings allow users to flexibly configure one or two channels of peripheral devices and run diagnostics using two different clock sources. Depending on the type, output currents of up to 2 A can be used.
As a part of the Profisafe system, these modules comply with the following safety categories and levels:
* Up to category 4 in accordance with EN 954-1.
* Up to SIL 3 in accordance with EN 61508 and EN IEC 62061.
