Stafsjö’s new knife gate valve SLV is developed for slurry and abrasive applications to address reliability while keeping life cycle costs down. The valve is a result of a long-term and customer oriented product development. The product was made possible by the company’s significant knowledge of knife gate valve technology and its pioneering design and material selection.
The valve is bi-directional and has full bore for maximum flow capacity. The modular design consists of a compact epoxy coated one (or two) piece valve body in cast iron. The top work can be fitted with a variety of actuators and accessories. The valve can also be customised, with hard-chromed gates in different alloys. A unique seat construction guarantees reliable operation when working with abrasive media.
Sealing principle
Specifically developed for long-life service in slurry applications, the composition of the seat and its embedded reinforcement rings guarantee safe actuation in tough operating conditions. The seats are axially flexible: When the valve is fully opened the seats expand towards each other thus forming a tight extension of the pipe line where only the seats are exposed to the media. The remaining seat cavity (minimal) prevents the accumulation of media in the bore.
