Elen Enclosures has launched a new range of glass-fibre reinforced polyester (GRP) enclosures. Until recently the size range of GRP enclosures on the market has been fairly limited, with the maximum size up to about 1000 x 800 x 300 mm.
The 'New Thalassa' or 'PLA' range extends the maximum to 1500 x 1250 x 420 mm, maintaining an IP65 rating. The range starts at 500 x 500 x 300 mm, with heights and widths increasing in 250 mm increments. Two depths of 320 and 420 mm extend the range to 40 different sizes. The enclosures are robust with increased wall thickness and construction suited for the harshest industrial environments. Elen Enclosures says that this is the first time that there is a field-mounted solution for larger installations in corrosive areas.
There are many accessories for the range, including galvanised chassis plates, perforated chassis plates, canopies, wall brackets, plinths, distribution board chassis and internal doors. Another new feature of this range is the availability of 19" fixed and swing frames for the 750 mm enclosure widths. These enclosures with a depth of 420 mm allow for the first time the ability to mount 19" rack equipment in harsh or corrosive environments.
The enclosures are well suited to the petrochemical, paper, sugar, chemical and mining industries, amongst others.
