Ethernet cameras for mobile displays are used in vehicles to indicate status and other information, while also becoming increasingly popular for monitoring the operating areas. ifm electronic’s new O2M camera system can be connected to the ifm PDM 360 dialogue monitor (with graphic capability) via Ethernet eliminating the need for a separate display.
The robust structure is designed for extreme operating conditions; the closed die cast zinc housing (80 x 42 x 56 mm) provides protection to IP69K, with connection made via the sealed M12 connectors. A temperature-controlled lens prevents misting in case of extreme weather conditions. (Operating temperature range is –30 to 75°C.)
Adjustable image parameters enable scaling, free positioning, rotating or mirroring of the camera image on the 320 x 240 pixel CMOS colour image sensor. Using split-screen representation, up to four camera images can be simultaneously displayed on the PDM 360 dialogue monitor.
For parameter setting and control of the camera’s functions, a CoDeSys software library is available which enables convenient creation of the PDM360 application software.
