Positioning Fieldbus nodes

The 750-636 WAGO I/O Module is a single-channel intelligent positioning controller for collector-based 24 V d.c. motors up to 5 A with incremental position feedback.

Typical applications for positioning controllers include setting of stops, roller contact pressure, transport carriages and dosing units. These tasks can be integrated directly into the fieldbus node with the new WAGO 750-636 Module. Three 24 V inputs detect the limit switches and a preset signal. An incremental sensor interface allows acquisition of the actual values using both 5 V and 24 V sensors. Where required, positioning optimises the initial switching position as a function of direction, taking into account compensation for gearing backlash.

Bidirectional control of the DC motor is implemented via a short-circuit proof, temperature-monitored H-bridge. Both switched operation and soft-start/stop or current reduction are possible through PWM control. A self-learning shutdown optimisation function simplifies commissioning.

The field-side 24 V supply voltage from the power contacts, which is monitored for under/over voltage conditions can be looped through to adjacent modules.
