Fieldbus & Industrial Networking

Intrinsically safe I/O

September 2008 Fieldbus & Industrial Networking

Seven intrinsically safe modules from the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM are approved for use in shipbuilding, drilling platforms and related applications.

WAGO easily achieves fieldbus technology in hazardous environments without expensive, fully intrinsically safe systems and without separate zener barriers or switch amplifiers.

As standard, the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM is approved for use in Zone 2 hazardous environments. Special EEx i modules, that can be combined with standard I/O modules, even permit the direct wiring into Zones 1 and 0. Seven of these modules (others will follow) have received international approvals for use in specialty shipbuilding and in onshore and offshore applications.

The WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM is a flexible and cost-effective fieldbus solution for the production and transportation of fuels or chemical and petrochemical products.

Product overview:

* 1-channel digital Namur input module with diagnostics (item no. 750-435).

* 2-channel digital Namur input module (item no. 750-438).

* 2-channel digital output module (item no. 750-535).

* 2-channel analog input module with diagnostics (item no. 750-485).

* 2-channel analog module for resistance sensors with diagnostics (item no. 750-481/003-000).

* 2-channel analog output module (item no. 750-585).

* 24 V d.c. supply module (item no. 750-625).
