SMC's Type SY 3000/5000, 5-port solenoid valve assembly is one of the most versatile valve assemblies available. Fully compatible with AS interface, Profibus-DP and Device Net, the assembly features:
* Low power consumption - 0,5 W (current draw of 21 mA at 24 V d.c.). It is possible to operate directly using a PLC instead of relays. Lower total cost of ownership can be achieved due to compact switching devices, resulting in low power consumption.
* Compact design, large flow capacity, and the Cv factor for this series is 1,7 to 3 times larger than conventional valve with the same body.
* Long life exceeding 50 million cycles - the result of a newly developed pilot structure, guide ring construction that prevents main valve eccentricity, and increased return force.
* Copper-free application as standard.
* Quick response times (10 ms or less)
* Improved anti-drain performance, as the main valve portion is made from special water resistant rubber.
The SY series comes in either body ported or manifold-based; on the manifold configuration the user has various kinds of options for electrical connections:
* D-sub connector (25-pole).
* Flat cable connector (26,20 and 10-pole).
* Standard terminal block type.
* Individual wiring (DIN plug, grommet or moulded leads).
The serial interface units for allow connection to PLC manufactured by names such as Mitsubishi, Omron, Sharp and Allen-Bradley. Profibus-DP, AS interface and Device Net are also available as standard.
