Pump supervision: pressure sensor provides diagnostics capability

In addition to pressure measurement, efector PIM is equipped with the functionality to perform diagnostics on pumps and ancillary equipment. This is achieved through continuous evaluation of dynamic pressure fluctuations in the system against reference values captured during teach-in. Damage, caused for example by cavitation or trapped air, can be detected at an early stage and maintenance can be undertaken to prevent a costly system failure. A trend indication in the display provided allows visual observation of pump condition and an alarm is triggered via a switching output when critical operating status is detected.
The sensors carry EHEDG and FDA approvals making them suitable for use in hygienic applications
The sensor is also a pressure monitor via a user definable second output that can be configured for limit switching or continuous analog measurement. This functionality allows the device to be used for direct pump control integrated with a condition based maintenance strategy.
