Wadeco have extended its range of Microwave-based products with a new combination of a Solids Flow Switch and Blocked Chute Transmitter, The Flow Switch works on the Doppler principle with the emitted beam being reflected off the medium and being processed to check if the target is moving or stationary. It is ideal for detecting powders and granules in pipe lines and conveyor transported solids like rock or coal. A visual LED indication gives transmitted and received signal strength allowing for simple and accurate set-up. An independent time delay setting on the output relay ON and OFF states allows for further refining the installation, making it suitable for all Solid Flow/No Flow applications.
It may also be used in hopper outlets to check for blockages. When used in conjunction with the blocked chute transmitter it will prevent the stopping of a conveyor when no product is present on the belt or in the hopper. With product in the hopper the Flow Sensor, the receiver does not receive a signal. When the receiver gets no signal, it will represent a no-flow condition in the chute, and will give an output to stop the belt.
