USB service cable
May 2008
Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors
Service cables for the configuration of WAGO components are now available with a USB interface and electrical isolation up to 2,5 kV.
PCs can be used to configure WAGO components such as couplers, controllers and transducers. To date, connection to the PC was established via a Bluetooth radio adapter or the serial interface. These options have been extended to include USB by the introduction of the new cable and plug assembly. The isolated plug limits the voltage transients that often occur in industrial applications, thus ensuring that peripheral equipment is safely protected.
The 2,5 m cable meets USB specification 2.0 and has a specified temperature range from -25 to +70°C. The USB connection is compatible with JUMPFLEX temperature transducers (857-801, 857-811), as well as most other couplers and controllers of series 750 (in some cases a firmware upgrade may be required). The new cable (item no. 750-923) is available now, and the cable version, 750-920, with serial interface is still supported.
