ifm electronic's LR level sensor with guided wave radar (gwr) technology is designed for continuous level monitoring in water-based media. The gwr technology employed in the LR family makes it ideal for continuous level monitoring on plant applications such as coolant reservoirs and cleaning machines, where water-based solutions are used. The LR has up to four programmable switch points (including set and reset points) with hysteresis and window functions. Settings of all parameters as well as programming of the switch points and indication are accomplished via the four-digit alphanumeric display.

Unlike float switches and vibration forks, the sensor's resistance to foam and build up, eliminates the need for routine cleaning intervals and unforeseen standstills. Level measurements are displayed directly on an LED display at a maximum vessel pressure of 0,5 bar and temperature range of 0°C to 80°C.

The design is simple and compact allowing direct mounting of the sensor in the tank by only using a flange plate. The units are available with rod lengths of 240, 450, and 700 mm.
