The Quad Signal Processor has been designed with four analogue inputs and four analogue outputs, which can be configured in a variety of ways. Standard configurations are:
* Four separate isolators.
* Summation or averaging unit with two, three or four inputs and three outputs for minimum, maximum and summation or average.
* Signal splitter with one input and four outputs.
* Specialised configurations can be provided with a once off configuration charge.
The analogue inputs are converted and sent via an isolated serial port to the main processor. Some pre-processing is possible prior to application processing and distribution to the analogue outputs.
A serial communications port is also available for downloading new firmware and accessing the various inputs and outputs.
Inputs can be voltage: 0-50 mV, ±50 mV, 0-100 V or ±100 V. Standards are 0-10 V and ±10 V or current: 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-5 mA, 0-1 mA as well as bipolar current inputs up to ±200 mA. Standards are 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA.
Outputs can be voltage: 0-10 V and ±10 V at up to 5 mA, with maximum ±12 V or current: 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-5 mA or 0-1 mA with an output impedance of 500 Ω.
The output zero and span are software adjustable for each output and the linearity is better than 0,2% of full scale. The isolation between input, output and auxiliary power supply is more than 1000 V a.c. and the step response, input to output is 10 ms or less.
The unit is also equipped with two digital inputs and two digital outputs as well as optional RS485 serial communications.
