Flow monitoring at high temperatures

With the Novafix family of appliances, Honsberg supplies devices for flow monitoring and measuring of liquids at high temperatures in critical applications. The measuring devices are designed to tolerate temperatures of up to 1600°C and include flow monitors and indicators. Modular design and standardised components allow adaptation on site to meet individual requirements.

The instruments are suited to industrial applications, such as tempering devices and heat conduction plants. Several overlapping operating ranges from 1,5 to 100 litres per minute are available in sizes between DN8 (G1/4”) to DN25


(G1”). Measurement is based on a piston actuator located in a valve seat. When lifted by the liquid under measurement a spring mounted magnet activates an attached limit value contact or an indicator gauge outside the flow space.

If no display is required, type MXR is available as a pure signal monitor with adjustable switching point controlled by a reed switch. Alternatively, type MXO is available with an optical indicator and the high performance type MXM is fitted with a micro-switch and supplementary quantity indicator. Adjustable limit value and indication can be provided via additional LEDs and contacts.
