The Spirax Sarco C series has a cage-guided plug that provides process control over high differential pressure ranges. Designed for erosive, cavitating and noisy applications, the modular concept allows many solutions to be implemented from a single envelope.
Fluid flow through a valve causes a drop in pressure and a resulting increase in velocity. The larger the resistance provided by the valve, the greater the pressure drop and velocity increase. Depending on flow conditions, the change in energy through the valve can create aerodynamic noise and resulting cavitation. The use of cages within the valve provides successive stages of energy absorption allowing velocity through the valve to be controlled so that the onset of cavitation is avoided. Further measures include the use of external devices such as baffle plates and silencers.
Pneumatically or electrically operated, the series features standard valve sizes in DN25 to DN200 and body rating to ANSI Class 300 and 600. The valve has reduced flow capacities for load matching and is compatible with a wide range of industry standard pipe connections.
