Rockwell Automation has announced the launch of a new line of linear stages for a wide range of load carrying applications. Linear stages - the mechanisms that direct input from an actuator along a linear axis - are critical for successful movement of linear functions on a range of machines. The availability of these off-the-shelf linear stages presents machine builders with an alternative to designing and troubleshooting their own. This allows the OEM to reduce development times and costs. The Allen-Bradley MP-Series Linear Stages leverage programming tools and facilitate ease of integration with other parts of the control system.
Using Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000 programming software and Allen-Bradley Motion Analyzer, OEMs can specify load and movement profile parameters to automatically select, configure and program a linear stage and drive combination that best fits the application. A single-axis MP-Series Linear Stage is available in both direct-drive and ball screw versions, as well as various force levels, multiple frame sizes, lengths of up to two metres and speeds of up to five metres per second.
The MP-Series Linear Stage allows seamless integration with the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture, delivering compatibility with Allen-Bradley controllers, interfaces and software. The series also offers an exterior cable track that is easy to replace without device disassembly, durable IP67-rated connectors that can be subjected to water and contaminants, and pre-programmed travel limits.
More movement on the market
Motion Control & Drives
If you want to move something, you have to be able to control the movement. When positioning in the nanometre range everything matters and requires high performance motion control. Six years ago, Aerotech therefore set itself the goal of revolutionising the market for precision motion and machine control systems.
