Temperature Measurement

Infrapoint temperature measuring range

September 2007 Temperature Measurement

Swift Heat & Control is the sole agent for Infrapoint Messtechnik in South and southern Africa. Infrapoint is a subsidiary of the Mikron-Impac Group, which has been working in the field of non-contact temperature measurement, thermal imaging and pyrometry for many years. Since the acquisition of Infrapoint by Mikron-Impac many new products have been added to the company's range.

The Infrapen and Optex Thermo Hunter pocket size portable handheld units are suited to measure temperatures in the food, HVAC, medical and plastics industries. These units incorporate a laser pilot light to indicate the measuring target.

The Inspacto 400, 500, 600 and 800 models are for temperature measurement of non-metallic surfaces. The maximum temperature range is 800°C. Typical industry users are the food, HVAC, plastics, motor vehicle diagnostics, maintenance and service sectors.

The Inspacto 900, 900 plus, GL and GLplus models are pyrometers designed for the measurement of temperature on glass surfaces. These units have optic ranges of 50:1, laser pilot lights, adjustable emissivity and provide realtime data storage facilities. Up to 250 measuring points can be stored which can then be downloaded onto a PC/laptop for further evaluation.

The Inspacto HT is suited for measuring temperatures up to 1800°C. The device is of high accuracy and can store up to 750 points. Typical industry sectors are the forging and steel rolling mills.

The Sentry Series is a new addition and caters for the lower temperature ranges found in the food processing industry.

To complete the range of testers is the Tastotherm Mini Series. These pocket size thermometers use either Pt100 or type K probes to measure temperatures and used in production lines, QA and workshop areas.
