One of the problems that control system engineers are often faced with is how to locate a PC display unit where it is required while at the same time locating the system unit in a more convenient or environmentally suitable location. Until recently it has not been practical to separate the display and system unit by more than a few metres. Beckhoff has overcome this limitation with a new member of its 'Economy' family.
The highlight of the CP79xx Control Panel series is the DVI/USB extension connection. This enables display devices to be installed at a distance of up to 50 m from the PC as standard. This series is designed for mounting arm installation and display sizes of 6,5", 12", 15", or 19" TFT are available.

In order to achieve a distance of 50 m without hubs, the USB signal is converted so that it can be transferred via 50 m CAT5 cables commonly used for Ethernet wiring. The signal is converted back to USB 1.1 in the Control Panel.
In addition to touch screen, membrane keyboard and pushbutton extension, a USB hub in the Control Panel enables connection of two external USB devices such as keyboard, mouse, USB stick or CD/DVD drive. The CU8800 USB to USB Extended converter box requires no auxiliary power supply. It has a USB input and an RJ45 USB Extended output. The box is offered complete with all required cables as a cable set.
