Realtime bearing maintenance

IFM Electronic's Efector Octavis detects unbalance, damage to rolling element bearings, alignment errors, cavitation and meshing at an early stage. This optimises the uptime of plant parts such as gears, electric motors, ventilators, pumps and spindles, while increasing production efficiency.

In addition to the Octavis alarm function, diagnostic values can now be transmitted via Ethernet to the netMonitor visualisation software. netMonitor not only networks the vibration monitors, but also records diagnostic data, and displays graphically all the information a user might need, providing instant alarm information and maintenance instructions. Diagnosis of the measuring points is visualised graphically and sub-divided into different machine groups.

The netMonitor software records every change in the machine condition and indicates time, date of the event and diagnostic values. Measuring data can be manually recorded at any time or automatically detected via triggers, and if required, made available for trend analysis. Parameterised thresholds for early warning and alarm are displayed on the PC by a red and yellow line.

By using the netMonitor message centre, limit values can be e-mailed to personnel in charge, maintenance instructions can be stored, and a course of action is clearly defined in case of damage.
