Phoenix Contact has expanded its wireless I/O product offering. Aside from IP65-rated I/O modules, IP20 multichannel modules can now be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth to the Fieldline system. The wireless I/O module ILB BT ADIO 2/27 16/16 has 16 digital inputs, 16 digital outputs, two analogue inputs and two analogue outputs. The I/O modules are wirelessly connected to the local bus via a Fieldline base station gateway module. With the IB IL 24 FLM Inline branch terminal it is also possible to integrate the wireless I/O system in the inline local bus. The base station automatically controls communication to the wireless I/O modules and cyclically transmits time-sensitive process signals in a deterministic manner.
Phoenix module uses Bluetooth communications between I/O and network gateway
With various bus terminals available, the wireless I/O station can be integrated in standard fieldbus networks, such as Interbus, Devicenet or Profibus. The use of the Bluetooth standard 1.2 with adaptive frequency hopping enables reliable data transmission in an industrial environment, making wireless transmission of process and control signals to a fieldbus possible. This eliminates the need for vulnerable and high-maintenance conductor lines, drag chains and slip rings.
