In situations where the wiring of a signal cable between sensor and processing unit is not possible or is too complex, Vega has introduced a wireless solution, Plicsradio.
This system transmits measurement data easily via a radio link, using a licence- and registration-free transmission range. Any 4-20 mA/HART signal and switching state can be simply and wirelessly transmitted with the sending and receiving unit. A maximum of two HART sensors, one additional 4-20 mA signal and two digital input signals, for example from level detectors, can be connected.
Obstacles such as streets, railway lines, rivers and buildings can be overcome cost effectively and without problems. Further areas of application are mobile plant components such as conveyor belts, rotating containers or tank vehicles. The Plicsradio solution also lends itself well to fast and uninterrupted expansion of existing plants, or constantly changing plant configurations.
