Gigavac has released a multipurpose sealed contactor for switching from 12 to 750 V a.c. or d.c. at 150 A. Key features of this contactor include:
* Chassis level UL508 sized power terminals - no need for specially routed power cables, special bus bars, or special lugs.
* Rugged EPICTM seal rated to 175°C - same technology used for advanced aerospace programs that reduce risk of fire or meltdown in over-current conditions.
* Hermetically sealed - approved for use in hazardous locations and for temporary water immersion.
* Stainless steel hardware and mounting inserts.
* Electronics-free high efficiency coil - no EMI emissions or cross-talk on nearby system control power.
* Built-in coil suppression - saves engineering time and parts cost to add external coil suppression.
* UL508 ambient compliant to 75°C but can operate continuously at 85°C with higher terminal temperature rise of 60°C. The unit can also operate up to 125°C in special cases.
* Not position sensitive - can be mounted in any position for ease of installation.
Typical applications include electric vehicles, welding equipment, railway rolling stock auxiliaries, fork-lift trucks, telecommunications, battery back-up systems, uninterruptible power systems, marine winches and motors, and engine starting systems.
