Butterfly valve suits metallurgical processes

In many metallurgical processes sulphuric acid is used to dissolve metals like zinc, copper and platinum from crushed or milled ore. During this leaching process butterfly valves are exposed to highly aggressive conditions.

Temperature, pressure and concentration vary considerably in the leach reactors and the associated butterfly valves have to withstand these varying working conditions. Depending on the process, the values of concentration may range from 10-70% and the temperature from 20-1200°C, whilst the pressure can reach up to 5 bar or more. Since valves are being continuously repaired extraction processes often run well below nameplate capacity.

The Bianca butterfly valve from InterApp with a PFA coated disc and PTFE-liner reliably withstands the wide range of operating conditions in such processes. The nominal diameters stocked range from DN 32 to DN900. Larger sizes are available on request. These butterfly valves are compatible with hand levers, gearboxes, pneumatic and electric actuators.
