Temperature Measurement

Reliable measuring instruments for explosive areas

March 2007 Temperature Measurement

The new temperature measuring instruments Ex-Pt 720, datalogger Ex 171-0 and thermohygrograph Ex 171-3 are used for applications in explosive areas. They all apply to the new Ex-protection-standard ATEX. From simple control measurement to long-term measurement with user-friendly data processing and analysis via PC, these products offer an ideal solution for every application. This EX-rated range offers a number of solutions for hazardous/explosive areas.

Ex-Pt 720: Highly precise portable temperature measuring instrument (Ex II2(1)G EEx ia IIC T4)

Due to the large measuring range (-50 to 400°C), high accuracy (±0,2 to

±05°C), precise 4-wire technology and possibility to connect immersion, penetration or surface probes, the Ex-Pt 720 is an ideal handheld instrument for control measurements. Measured values are clearly readable on the large display. Custom-made probes can also be developed to suit your extraordinary needs.

Ex 171-0: Professional datalogger (Ex II2G EEx ia IIC T4)

This temperature datalogger in its robust and watertight (IP 68) metal housing guarantees high measuring accuracy of long term measurements. In order to read out the recorded data, the PC-interface is connected outside the explosive range. Graphical or tabular analysis of data is carried out via user-friendly software in compliance with 21CFR11. The Ex 171-0 can record up to 55 000 measured values which are non-manipulable.

Ex 171-3: Electronic thermohygrograph (Ex II2G EEx ia IIC T4)

The themohygrograph has the benefits of the Ex 171-0 and also guarantees a high measuring accuracy for long-term humidity measurements. The Ex 171-3 is capable of recording up to 20 000 measured values and cannot be manipulated. Control and calibration is possible via a calibration set.

Another advantage of the dataloggers is the clear identification in the form of an explicit serial number as well as the possibility to protect the measuring program of unauthorised access with an instrument password.

Testo portable instruments are exclusively distributed in South Africa by UniTemp.
