Wireless temperature sensor for cryogenic applications

February 2007 Temperature Measurement

DeltaTRAK, a leading manufacturer of cold chain management solutions and portable environmental test instruments, has announced the new Flashlink wireless -80°C external sensor for cryogenic applications. This sensor, composed of a highly accurate temperature thermistor and robust 418 MHz radio transmitter, is a new member of the Flashlink Wireless System.

This has been designed and tested to measure cryogenic temperatures down to

-80°C. This sensor is especially well suited for remote monitoring and reporting of temperatures of cryogenically stored materials, such as body organs and epoxy sheets, in the range of -80°C to -20°C. This sensor comes with a 2,75 m Teflon coated extension cable, which is connected to the thermistor. The 'playing card-deck' sized sensor is made from durable, impact resistant ABS plastics and is N.I.S.T. traceable, FCC Part 15-compliant and with CE mark.

The DeltaTRAK Flashlink Wireless System is designed to automatically measure, record and report environmental (temperature and humidity) conditions at remote locations and to announce violations of user-defined temperature levels via three alarm broadcast options. The system transmits and receives monitored environmental data using well established RF technology and unlicensed 418 MHz or 900 MHz ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) radio frequency bands.
