ProSoft Technology introduces unique range of industrial wireless solutions

January 2007 Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors

Automation ControlLogix and ProTalk Wireless module for Schneider Electric Quantum bring PWP (ProSoft Wireless Protocol) secured and highly performing wireless connectivity directly to the PLC processor's backplane.

With its range of industrial wireless networking solutions, ProSoft Technology brings more flexibility and more opportunities to automation engineers for license-free, 2,4 GHz wireless connectivity. Solutions include wireless Ethernet and/or serial industrial protocol connectivity, wireless gateways bringing unique high-speed connectivity to Device Level Protocols such as Profibus, Hart, and solutions giving direct access from the backplane of control platforms to wireless networking. These wireless connectivity options allow communications with moving devices and/or with remote equipments, faster communications for rotating devices, security monitoring, safety applications, prohibitive cost of installation of cables or fibre, and wireless connectivity needed in hazardous locations (explosive atmospheres).

ProSoft Technology specialises in the development of communication solutions compatible with the large automation supplier's controllers such as Rockwell Automation and Schneider Electric. The primary focus is to provide connectivity solutions that link dissimilar automation products. ProSoft Technology's offerings consist of four main product families: protocol and network connectivity modules known as inRAx for Rockwell Automation and ProTalk for Schneider Electric, standalone gateways, protocol converters, and wireless gateways known as ProLinx, and industrial serial and Ethernet wireless modules known as RadioLinx.

Always bringing more flexibility to automation application engineers, ProSoft Technology also opens the PLC chassis to wireless technology with its inRAx Wireless module for Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and ProTalk Wireless module for Schneider Electric Quantum. These unique modules will bring PWP (ProSoft Wireless Protocol) secure and high performing wireless connectivity directly in to PLC processors.

ProSoft Technology has continuously been enlarging the range of wireless applications in industrial automation, and counts numerous applications in food and beverage, manufacturing, material handling, energy, nuclear, oil and gas, seaports, mining, freshwater pumping, and wastewater treatment in its list of references.

Sales and support services for ProSoft Technology's products are supplied through Throughput Technologies, which has been the sole southern African distributor for the past nine years.
