Instrumentation box for Ex environments

Pratley has made several changes to its Ezee-Fit Junction Box range. The most noticeable is a colour change from orange to black with bright red bands on each cable entry. "This box with the band concept makes identification easy," says Pratley marketing manager, Eldon Kruger. Identification is especially important in hazardous Ex locations where equipment has to be inspected at regular intervals.

One version of Pratley's 'box with the band' is the Ezee-Fit instrumentation box. The entries of this junction box are fitted with special small compression gland kits. This allows instrumentation cables as small as 3 mm to be safely terminated, even in Hazardous Zone 1 Ex e locations.

The instrumentation box can be fitted with Ex e rated Pratley Kwikblok rail-mounted terminals for easy terminations and a tough polycarbonate see-through lid for easy inspection.
